The Empty Tomb

During March and April the growth of plants, colorful flowers and trees budding are often associated with Easter. They are indeed welcome signs of Spring and the newness it represents.

The real meaning of Easter however is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus alone was born to die for the sins of all mankind. He alone, out of His great love for all people, sacrificed His life on the cross at Calvary that we could be redeemed from sin, reconciled to the God who seeks a personal relationship with each of us and united forever with Him. He alone was resurrected from the dead and lives now to intercede for those He has redeemed by His own blood. He alone will return to rule all of the nations with wisdom and in peace. Praise God!!

Nothing but the Blood of Jesus

We all know that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross (Matthew Chapter 27, Mark Chapter 15, Luke Chapter 23, John Chapter 19). Few of us, however, know the full detail of all of his sufferings for us. There were several times that Jesus shed his blood. Each time holds special significance for us as believers in Christ. As we go deeper into our understanding of what Christ went through on our behalf, we can learn important things that are often overlooked.

This video shows how many times Jesus bled for us.

Just to name a few, when Jesus was taken into captivity, the soldiers made crown of thorns and driven it into his head and He bled. By His blood He wants to deliver our mind, will and emotions. He wants to set us free.

He bled from His back where He was beaten. The whipping of Jesus Christ and his blood that was spilled, gives us our physical healing of our own bodies. We can claim the blood of Christ as the scriptures tell us that "by his wounds we are healed Isa. 53:5."

As Jesus was crucified on the cross they put iron spikes or nails 5-7 inches, into His hands or wrists. He bled from His two hands for the things we have to do, the work of our hands if you will.

He bled from His feet that were nailed nailed through the tendons at the back of the foot in between the anklebones. Our feet takes us places. It is our walk in life. He wants our walk in life to be clean. He wants it to be pure.

He bled from His side. A sword was thrust into His side. It speaks of our transgressions. He wants to heal and deliver us from the curse of transgressions.

It is important to know that there were prophecies that not a bone would be broken. This is found in Exodus 12:46; and also in Numbers 9:12. Jesus is the sacrificial lamb that takes away the sins of the world, the lambs were not to have their bones broken.

One scripture to remember is Ephesians 1:7-8
"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding."

Then there is the song: "What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh! precious is the flow That makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, Nothing but the blood of Jesus."

Another song: "There is power, power wonder working power in the precious blood of the Lamb."

Remember, II Timothy 2:15 admonishes us to: "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
