- I am an associate minister here in Newark, NJ. I have been a substance abuse counselor for about 20 years now. I was delivered from a life of drug addiction so who better to help the lost but one who was lost herself.
I believe that it's time that we got out of seats of comfortablity and began to minister to those who are really hurting. "The well don't need a physician".
When I think of where God brought me from. When I think about all those years that I was damaged goods and yet He took that brokeness, the low self esteem, those years of abuse, physically, mentally and emotionally and said "You're the one I will use".
I couldn't believe it! God wanted to use ME? You see He looked beyond the dirt, the eating out of garbage cans, and He saw a finished product. Praise our God.
My scars I use as testimony tools. The years of addiction I use as roadmaps of where never to travel, and my life now, I use to encourage that prostitute, the drug dealer, the gang banger that since they've tried everything else, it's time they try Jesus.
